People migrate from different parts of the world to America to start a better life. But they do not estimate the hardships that they will go through to get settled in a foreign land. In the novel My Antonia, Willa Cather portrays all the hardships the immigrants have to go through.

One of the known difficulties is the communication barrier. Willa Cather shows this particular barrier in the Shimerdas family, they do not know English very well or at all, so they have many problems communicating. They cant any of them speak English, except one little girl, and all she can say is We go Black Hawk, Nebraska (Page 6). There is only one person in their whole family that knows a few words of English, but she is not fluent at all. They do not have a social life with anyone in the country besides each other because of this immense barrier. Furthermore locals are scared of the foreigners because they think that they are not pure. Jake nodded at me approvingly and said you were likely to get disease from foreigners (Page 6). Many people discriminate against foreigners because they think that they might be contagious.

Furthermore, immigrants do not know the market value of the property or the merchandise they buy. “The Bohemian family, grandmother told me as we drove along, had bought the homestead of a fellow countryman, Peter Krajiek, and had paid him more than it was worth. Their agreement with him was made before they left the old country, through a cousin of his, who was also a relative of Mrs. Shimerda. The Shimerdas were the first bohemian family to come to this part of the country. Krajiek was their only interpreter, and could tell them anything he chose.” (Page. 15-16.) The immigrants were fooled and got taken advantage of, due to the lack of knowledge of the market value. The Farmhouse is not in a condition where someone can live. They trusted a person because that was the only far relative they had in a new country, they believed whatever he told them. They did not have enough money left after buying an over priced property. They did not have any way to verify the value of the property since the agreement was made before they even moved to America. They could not take any advice from anyone else due to the barrier of communication.

Furthermore, the Shimerdas are not ready for the winter, Mr. Shimerda was a craftsman in his old country, and he does not know how to farm and how to prepare for the winter. “Mrs. Shimerda opened the door before we knocked and seized grandmother’s hand. She did not say “how do!” as usual, but at once began to cry, talking very fast in her own language, pointing to her feet which were tied up in rags … Mrs. Shimerda snatched off the covers of two barrels behind the door, and made us look into them. In one there were some potatoes that had been frozen and were rotting, in the other was a little pile of flour.” (Page. 48-4) The immigrants did not have proper clothing to protect them from the harsh winter weather. They did not have enough food, and what they did have was rotting away. This also shows the lack of communication when Mrs. Shimerda talks fast in her language. She was really depressed and did not know what to do, so all she could do was to cry.

Furthermore, the immigrants go through more hard times when they find the man of the house dead. “Old Mr. Shimerda is dead, and his family are in great distress. Ambrosch came over here in the middle of the night, and Jake and Otto went back with him.” (Page. 6.) Mr. Shimerda committed suicide because he was in great depression. He did not know what to do; his life was going downhill since he moved to the new country. He was trying to get attention of the neighbors, so they can help is family. In addition, the Shimerdas lost a family member after migrating to a new country. This was a mental hardship they had to go through and will for the rest of their lives. “I wish my papa live to see this summer. I wish no winter ever come again, … if I live here, like you, that is different. Things will be easy for you. But they will be hard for us.” (Page. 0.) Antonia is really sad and misses her dad. She realizes that she has to go through the hardships because she is an immigrant. She wishes that her father was still alive after the harsh winter and was alive to see the beautiful summer.

In conclusion, immigrants have to go through many obstacles and hardships in their lives when they move to a different country. Some of these hardships are mental, and others are physical. Even though they have to face all these obstacles, most of the time they are successful.

Inclusive Education

The Right of All Children

I. INTRODUCTION

For many years children with special needs were isolated from their peers at school. They were placed in separate classrooms away from other students, but inclusion has changed this. Inclusion involves a commitment to educate children with special needs, including those with disabilities by bringing the support services to the children in a regular classroom setting rather than moving the child to the services (Schultz). The regular education teacher may receive assistance from individuals such as the special education teacher, speech therapist, and physical therapist if needed, in order to provide needed services within the regular classroom. These students have Individualized Education Plans (IEP) with objectives that are developed around their needs and must continue to be met in the regular class (Tomko). Some important questions concerning inclusion are as follows 1) What are some concerns regarding inclusion?; )What are the two most common forms of inclusion?; )What are some positive and negatives aspects of inclusion?; 4)What strategies can be used in the classroom to make inclusion effective and successful?

II. BODY

Inclusion has been implemented in many school systems throughout the United States. These school systems have adopted the idea that all children should and can learn in a regular classroom (Cromwell). Initially and still today, there are many concerns regarding inclusion on the part of parents and teachers. Parents of children with special needs fear a loss of advocacy because the primary responsibility for the education of their children is being shifted to the regular education teacher (Deloney and Tompkins). Before inclusion, the special education

Knightshead

teacher had the primary responsibility of educating and providing the appropriate resources and services to their students because they were familiar with each child’s situation, unlike the regular education teacher. Additionally, parents are concerned about whether their children will

be able to keep up in a regular classroom, so they prefer the child to stay separated. In addition to parental concerns, many teachers also have concerns about inclusion.

One area of concern for teachers is the fact that many feel they have not been adequately trained for inclusion, especially when handicapped children are placed in their classrooms. These students may require the use of special types of equipment and classroom modifications. Teachers may also have students with medical problems in the class, and some teachers are concerned because they lack medical training to handle emergencies if needed. Special education teachers are concerned about the number of students with special needs being assigned to them (Trump 1). Special education teachers are being assigned more students than they can handle and are having problems getting around to all of them (Trump 1).

In many schools today children with special needs are being integrated into regular classrooms by two common forms of inclusion full inclusion or mainstreaming. Full inclusion is the placement of children with special needs into a regular classroom setting full-time or all day (Shultz). Any services the child receives are brought to them in the regular classroom (Shultz). According to Adria Robertson, a sixth-grade teacher at Elysian Fields Middle School,

“Many children cannot handle full inclusion. After a while they begin to get very restless, and

you can tell they have had enough of schoolwork, especially those kids with behavior problems

or attention deficit disorder.” These students have short attention spans and being confined in a

regular classroom for all day is too much for them, and as a result they may begin acting up and disrupting the class. In addition, full inclusion may not be appropriate for students with severe

physical and medical conditions because they may need to rest at times during the day.

Knightshead

Mainstreaming is the most common form of inclusion being implemented in schools. Mainstreaming refers to the placement of children in one or more regular classrooms for part of the day (Shultz). The students have to earn the opportunity to be placed in a regular class by showing they can keep up with the work assigned by the regular education teacher (Shultz). According to Adria Robertson, mainstreaming works because students have to earn the

opportunity for placement into a regular class, and mainstreaming gives them the incentive to work hard in order to remain in the class where they want to be. Even though inclusion has been successful in many cases, some teachers and parents remain skeptical.

Inclusion or mainstreaming has some positive aspects. According to Catherine Voelker Morsink, regular education students are given the opportunity to be in close contact with those students that have special needs or physical disabilities, and this helps them get past their fears and misconceptions about disabled people (18). Regular education students also can learn about the problems their peers with special needs have, and knowledge about the problems of their peers can help regular education students be more patient and understanding with them. The child with special needs also benefits from inclusion. Inclusion helps to build up self-esteem and

give students with special needs a sense of belonging (Deloney and Tomkins). It also takes away the stigma of labeling (Deloney and Tomkins). While there are many positive aspects, there are

some negative aspects of inclusion. Inclusion is not appropriate for all students. Some students cannot handle being part of a large class. They may feel more comfortable in a smaller class and need more one-on-one attention from the teacher. Adequate resources may not always be available in the regular classroom for those students with special needs. According to Morsink, if students with special needs, including those with physical disabilities, are not given appropriate materials and assistance, they are still segregated from their peers even though they are in the

Knightshead 4

regular classroom with them (1). Another negative aspect of inclusion is insufficient planning time. Both special and regular education teachers complain about not having enough planning

time (Trump 1). They feel they would need more time to plan alone and with co-teachers in order to make the needed modifications for those children with special needs (Trump 14). An increase in planning time is needed for each special education student that is added to the classroom (Trump 14).

In order to help teaching students with special needs in the regular classroom to be done effectively and successfully, different strategies such as peer tutoring, collaborative planning, and classroom management can be used within the classroom. Peer tutoring involves students being placed in small groups and teaching one another under the supervision of the teacher (D’Zamko and Hedges ).In a group setting students with special needs can be help by regular education students without experiencing embarrassment and both the tutor and tutee benefit (D’Zamko and Hedges ). According to Robertson, “Peer tutoring really works because it

makes students feel good when they can help one another, and it gives them a sense of responsibility.”

A second strategy is collaborative planning. Both teachers need to work together to plan instructional modifications in order to meet the needs of all students in the classroom (Trump 1). A third strategy is classroom management which is essential for an inclusive classroom setting and can prevent discipline problems in the classroom (Morsink 15). According to Morsink, classroom rules should be clearly posted in order to remind students of behavioral expectations and consequences (16). Teachers need to be consistent with discipline, and the consequences should be the same for everyone, including those students with disabilities. For classrooms that include those students that do not read or speak more than one language, the rules should be illustrated with pictures (Morsink 16).

Knightshead 5

III. CONCLUSION

In conclusion, all children deserve the right to an equal education, and inclusive education gives students with special needs that opportunity. Inclusive education provides students with special needs contact with their peers, and teaches children how to work together and relate to others with different abilities (Tomko). The regular classroom may not be appropriate for all students with special needs, but for those that can placement in the regular

classroom can be very beneficial. Proper planning ahead, preparation, and supports for the child are essential for inclusion to work properly (Tomko). I feel that with inclusion there are still problems that need to be addressed, but with the cooperation of everyone involved inclusion can be successful and effective. (1,88).

Being a boundary crosser doesn’t have to include earth-shattering experiences around the world. I have never been out of the United States, but I have crossed many boundaries and learned lessons from it here in our country. Any time I have reached out of my comfort zone for the benefit of someone else, I believe that is crossing a boundary.

It is innate for me to cross boundaries evidenced in many ways when reviewing my activities and choices I have made in my high school years. Early in my development I made the change from being strictly an academic student to a student-athlete status. Athletics has exposed me to a diverse group of people, and in the team sports I play such as football and baseball everyone is forced to work together. More recently I crossed a boundary when I started volunteering in my community. I started a volunteer service at Myrtle Terrace, an income based housing facility for elderly ladies. There are thirty residents at Myrtle Terrace, and they all come from different regions and backgrounds. Also the elderly population comes from a different socioeconomic background than me. Not only have the residents benefited from my services, but I have also learned a great deal from speaking and working with them. The school systems today are very diverse, and some of the roles I have taken in my school have been boundary crossings. I was the class president my sophomore and freshman years and student body vice president my junior year. This year I am the senior class president. Working in leadership positions exposes you to many types of people, and a good leader works well with everyone. I must admit I take pride in the fact that I have a diverse group of friends. It is true that cliques do exist in our schools. However, I have friends from all groups of people from different ethnic, educational, and financial backgrounds. I have found my best friends are those that are unlike myself. One experience that requires youth to cross boundaries is going to a work camp. I have done this twice through my church youth group. One was in Wilmington, NC and the other was in Tullahoma, TN. Both times I was humbled as I was exposed to people less fortunate than me. When I was able to help them by repairing their homes I felt the greatest sense of accomplishment. Another example of crossing a boundary is my participation in tutoring. I have tutored five students in the past three years, and one in particular means a lot to me. I am currently helping a student who is Hispanic, and he is the only person in his family that knows English. I was selected from a group of peer tutors to help this special student. I say he is special because he has developed a brain tumor that is robbing him of his sight. Now he can only see very large objects. Of all the classes, the one I am helping him with is geometry where sight is vital in learning. I sit with him during his class and describe what the teacher is doing, and I have a dry-erase board that I draw large shapes on for him to see. I just got a viewer magnification machine for him to use, which helps him some. This is a challenge for both of us, as we haven’t dealt with the problem before. The student is an inspiration to me because he always has a positive attitude and works hard everyday despite his misfortune. I am very proud of his effort and it paid off when he got the grade back on his first quiz. It was a joy seeing the smile crack on his face when the teacher told him he scored a perfect 100.

In reflection I see a common trait emerging with every boundary I trespass, and that is the leadership qualities I posses. The willingness for me to leave my comfort zone and engage in the unfamiliar is a result of my attraction to leading. I would like to offer a quote that I feel surmises the qualities necessary to be a boundary crosser, and also describes the perception my family, peers, and community has of me.

Sir Francis Drake

by Lionel Ashcroft

Francis Drake sailed across from England in a voyage that would take him around the world in three years. He sailed under secret orders from Queen Elizabeth, who privately allowed him to attack the Spanish, while publicly denying knowledge of his actions. He started out with three ships the Pelican, the Elizabeth and the little thirty ton Marigold.

They all crossed the Atlantic and sailed south down to the Straights of Magellen. Here Drake got through in only 16 days but the Elizabeth got lost and the Marigold foundered, leaving only the Pelican with 58 men on board to sail up the coast of Chile and Peru. Changing the name to the Golden Hind they anchored in Lima, Peru among 50 or so other ships and found out that a great Spanish treasure ship was just leaving for Panama. Drake chased it and captured all the gold, silver and spices on board. He then continued going north up the coast pursued by Spanish ships, he outdistanced them and hoping to find a northern passage back across to England continued up to what is now British Columbia. His sails and rigging froze and the coast was pushing them further west away from the direction they had hoped to go. Eventually they turned round and came back down the coast to California. Drake had captured a Spanish map that showed a way across the Pacific, but before he set out across an unknown ocean he had to stop and repair his ship.

Drake chose to anchor in a natural harbor whose yellow cliffs he glimpsed through the summer fog of the Marin coast. He is generally considered to have landed at what is known as Drakes Beach (though this location has been disputed), where he stayed to repair his leaky ship for six weeks. During this time he had ample opportunity to observe the natives, treating them with friendship who in turn greeted him with great honor. We are fortunate that Chaplain Fletcher on board the Golden Hind kept a meticulous diary of the whole voyage in a book called “The World Encompassed”. The book was written by Drakes nephew (also named Sir Francis Drake) printed in 168 and was an enormous Elizabethan success.

The book recounts in detail the observations of Fletcher on the customs and lifestyles of the Miwok Indians, providing valuable information on the period prior to any contact with non native people. The language and printing of the book are Elizabethan so these extracts have been modernized. They represent about half of the total entry on Drakes stay in Marin.

June 17, 157

In 8 deg.0 min. We fell in with a fit and convenient harbor and June 17, came to anchor there, where we stayed till the July. During all which time, not withstanding it was the height of summer, we were continually visited with nipping cold, neither could we at any time within a fourteen day period find the air so clear as to be able to take height the sun or stars.

The next day after our coming to anchor, the people of the country showed themselves; sending off a man with great expedition to us in a canoe. Who but being a little from the shore and a great way from our ship began to speak to us continually as he came rowing on. At last at a reasonable distance he stopped and began a solemn, long and tedious oration, using many gestures and signs and after returned to the shore again. He brought with him (as a present from the rest)a bunch of feathers, much like the feathers of a black crow, very neat and artificially gathered on a string and drawn around into a bundle; being very clean and finely cut, each equal length with the other, which they (as we after observed) who guard the king wear. They also brought a little basket of an herb they call “tabah,” both of which being tied to a short rod he cast into our boat Our General (Drake) sough to recompense him but he refused anything but a hat we threw into the water.

The third day having received a leak at sea our ship was brought nearer the shore, so that her goods being landed the ship could be repaired. Our General first landed all his men with all provisions to build tents and make a fort for the defense of ourselves and goods.

At this time, being willed by signs to lay from them their bows and arrows, they did as they were directed and so did all the rest coming by more and more to a great number both of men and women. Nothing could persuade them or remove that opinion, which they had conceived of us, that we should be gods.

In recompense of those things which they had received from us shirts, linen and cloth, they bestowed on our General feathers, capes of network, quivers of arrows made of fawn skin and other skins the women wore.

Having thus had their fill of visiting and looking at us they departed with joy to their houses which are dug round in the earth and have from the uppermost rim of the circle poles of wood set up and joined close at the top like our spires on a church, which being covered with earth allow no water to enter and are very warm, the door in the most of the also serves as a chimney to let out the smoke. Their beds are the hard ground only with rushes strewn upon it and lying around about the house they have their fire in the middle which gives a marvelous reflection to their bodies to heat the same.

Their men for the most part go naked, and the women take tule reeds and combing it after the manner of hemp make themselves a loose garment which knitted about their middle hangs down about their hips, they also wear deerskin. They are very obedient to their husbands.

At the end of three days were assembled a greatest number of people who we guessed lived in the area. Amongst them was the king himself, a man of goodly stature and handsome with his guard of about 100 tall and warlike men who this day came to see us. After two Ambassadors were sent to let us know the king desired to see us and the General giving them a gift for the king as a sign of peace, they returned a soon their king came forward with his train. They cried continually in a singing manner with a lusty courage and as they drew nearer they adopted a certain gravity in all their actions. In the front came a large man bearing a scepter (made of black wood about four feet long). Hanging from it were two crowns with three chains of a marvelous length and often doubled and a bag of Tabah. The crowns were made of knit work, wrought upon most curiously with feathers if different colors, very artificially placed and of a formal fashion.

The chains seemed to be of a bony substance; every link being very little, thin and most finely burnished, with a small hole pierced through the middle in a manner infinite. Persons are limited what number they wear, some ten some twenty depending their rank and honor.

The king had on his head a cowl of knit work made somewhat like the crowns; upon his shoulders he had a coat of rabbit fur (or squirrel). His guard had coats of the same shape, but of other skins some having cowls with feathers or down which grows on a herb like our lettuce. After these were the naked sort of common people, whose hair being long did gather in a bunch behind, in which plumes of feathers were stuck. but in the front only one feather which they wore as they pleased.

Every one had his face painted, some white, some black and some with other colors and each man had for us a present or gift of some kind. The last part were the women and children each women carrying one or two round baskets and bags of Tabah and a root called Petah, which they make a kind of meal, fish, seeds and the down mentioned before. Their baskets are made like a deep bowl and though made of rushes would hold water, about the brims were hung pieces of pearl shell two or three links at once and worked with down of red feathers.

They are a people of a tractable, free and loving nature, without guile or treachery; their bows and arrows(their only weapons) they use very skillfully, but yet not to do any great harm with them. They are so strong of body that which two or three our men could hardly carry they could pick up and carry an English mile; they are swift in running and for long periods and seldom walk but for the most part run. If they chanced to see a fish near the shore they seldom miss the chance to catch it.

The inland we found to be far different from the shore, a goodly country stored with many blessings for man. Fat deer by the thousands, a multitude of small creatures that resemble rabbits, the people eat them and use the skins.

Our general caused to be set up a monument of our being there; as also of her majesty (Queen Elizabeth) and successors right and title to that kingdom, namely a plate of brass, fast nail to a great and firm post; where upon is engraved her graces name and the day and year of our arrival there....her picture and arms in a sixpence put in a hole in the plate underneath which was engraved the name of our General.

A World Unknown (My Trip to Europe)

Ever since I was a little girl I dreamed about traveling overseas. Strange lands, exciting places, and new cultures have always fascinated me. Ive always wondered what it would be like to speak another language, to grow up learning different customs, or to live in a completely different way than I do now. Three years back my dream finally came true. I got to travel to England, France, Switzerland, and Germany with my family and suddenly the world was at my fingertips.

Englands green hills and city life is unforgettable. Kensington, Westminster Abby, and Piccadilly Circus are just a few parts of London full of historic cathedrals, quaint little cafes, and amazing shopping places. Harrods, where the royal family shops, supposedly sells everything. Its loveliness attracts thousands of tourists, which include foreigners as well. My favorite experience in London was riding The Underground to see the Broadway play Fosse and watching the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace. England overall is much different from the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.). The language spoken in England is English, whereas the official language spoken in the U.A.E. is Arabic, but they also speak English. Also, the currency in England, the Pound, is quite high compared to the U.A.E. Dirhams. However, driving on the left side of the road is hard to get use to.

The Eiffel Tower, The Arc de Triomphe, The Lourve, The obelisk, La Place de la Concorde, and Notre Dame are all located in the heart of Paris, France. Paris, with its French cuisine, romantic atmosphere and historical self-being fills you with a sense of complete contentment. Ill never forget sitting at a French cafe, eating a baguette, drinking mineral water, and watching the Parisians walk by. Pariss metro system makes going anywhere a fast and easy trip. With my knowledge of the French language and an idea about French life I came to love Paris.

Theres only one word to describe Switzerland and Germany, and thats beautiful. Quite the contrary to what I expected, both countries turned out to be extremely clean. There are not as many tourist attractions but the scenery alone is enough to keep you engaged. In Lucerne, Switzerland I went up Mt. Pilatus, tasted fine Swiss chocolate, browsed the famous coo-coo clocks, and even got to attend a folk dinner. At the dinner, I ate and drank while people serenaded us singing, dancing, and playing Swiss folk instruments. My family and I didnt spend very much time in Germany, but we managed the time we did have well. Some of my fondest memories there were eating what Germany happens to be known for; its sauerkraut and sausage, visiting Reims castle, and going to the Heidelburg disco tech (a nightclub type place).

After the fabulous days touring the four countries it was time to return to the U.A.E. I had made so many new friends, saw so many new things, and had so much fun and enjoyment of the essence. Going to Europe completely changed the way I looked at the world. I now respect different cultures. I never imagined how different the world outside my own in the U.A.E. really was. My adventure has left me wondering what the rest of the world is like. The active life of traveling in Europe filled me with a zest for life. Theres so much Ive never seen. Its a great big world and I cant wait to explore it.

I found this article interesting related to The future of cross-cultural training. No doubt

due to Globalisation we can see that most of the multi national organisations worldwide,

are developing their work force to work in culturally diverse environments. This enables

the managers and other staff to work effectively for the accomplishment of the corporate

goals.

It is said that diversity and comlexity are every where and every day in real life.I

Im sorry but this is my first essay

Italy is one of the countries most frequently selected when teaching Regional Geography. Italy can be used in many answers e.g. tourism, influence of climate on the economy, core and periphery, government policy re industrial location. In St.Brendans we also use Italy as an exemplar of a country that has distinctive regions that can be geographically justified.

The three regions that Italy can be subdivided into are

Alpine Italy

The justification of these three regions of Italy is considered under the following

Climate

Relief and Soils

Industrial development

ALPINE ITALY

Climate This part of Italy is extremely mountainous and the principal climatic influence, therefore, is altitude. Precipation is mainly snow especially in the higher altitudes. Above the snow line there are glaciers as there is little or no annual ablation. Aspect is also important as most of the Italian Alps would have a southerly aspect. Like all mountain climates there are micro climatic conditions in Alpine Italy. The valley of Lake Maggiore is a typical example, where the local climate is moderated by a combination of aspect, a sheltered glaciated valley and the influence of the lake.

Relief and Soils The Alps are young folded mountains that historically have isolated Italy from Central and Northern Europe.Obviously this is mostly an infertile region as slopes are steep and soil cover is thin and poor in quality. The cold environment has not been conducive for natural organic breakdown and the formation of humas, the natural mineral required for soil fertility. As a result forestry is an alternative land use. Agriculture is confined to the lower slopes to the south and the sheltered valleys such as those occupied by the glacial pater noster lakes i.e. Lakes Maggiore, Como and Garda.

Industrial Development Alpine Italy does not have the natural resources associated with the traditional urban industrial of Northern Europe e.g. coal and iron ore. Allied to this dearth of resources is the sparsity of population, difficult terrain for communications. As a result secondary industry is not developed in this regions as much as it is further south in the so-called industrial triangle of Milan-Turin-Genoa. However Alpine Italy has an important tertiary sector i.e. tourism, with its scenic beauty in summer and winter sports. Thus tourism is an all year industry. The tradition of forests and pastoral farming provide the region with the raw materials for craft and leather industries. The afore mentioned lakes act as reservoirs for the H.E.P. stations on the southely slopes.

THE PLAIN

Climate

The Lombardy Plain, in North Italy, is influenced by Mediterranean climate to the south, continental climate to the north of the Alps and of course the altitude of the Alps. This region is cooler than Peninsular Italy to the south, in winter, and it can be quite warm during the summer i.e. in the high 0s and low 0s. Rain can occur in any season, with a winter maximum. Total annual precipitation can be up to 1000mm. Precipitation amounts are higher towards the Alps and snow may fall in winter. However this region needs irrigation for productive arable farming as there is intense evaporation during the hot summer.

Relief and Soils

This region is Italys largest lowland region. It is an extension of the present day Adriatic Sea, which has been infilled with deposits over millions of years. These deposits were from glaciers and later fluvio-glacial deposits and are composed of varieties of sands and gravels. Later many areas in river floodplains were covered with fertile alluvial deposits, such as The Po Basin. There are some clay deposits as well and are associated with areas that specialise in dairy farming. Generally there is a variety of fertile soil types making this the wealthiest agricultural region of Italy.

As a country Italy was late to develop its industrial base. The North Italian Plain is the most urban industrialised region in Italy. In the west of the region, there is the industrial triangle of Milan, Turin and Genoa. The fertility of the region an resultant productive agriculture created a tradition of foodprocessing and agricultural engineering. The harnessing of H.E.P., frome the nearby fast flowing rivers in the Alps was a major advantage in the expansion of industry in Milan and Turin. Most raw materials have to be imported. Genoa is the leading port of Italy and facilitates imports and exports. Turin is famous for its motor car engineering factories and heavy and light industries associated with companies such as Fiat, Olvietti etc.

This region is in the south of Peninsular Italy i.e. from Naples southwards. The climate is typically Warm Temperate Western Margin or Mediterranean climate. Summers are hot with average temperatures in the high 0s and low 0s. Summers are also typified by a long drought with intense evaporation. Winters are mild to warm with average being about 17 degees celcius. Most rain fall in winter with amounts varying from about 00mm to 500mm. The lower amounts are experienced along the Adriatic coast because of the rain-shadow effect. The province of Apulia (heel of Italy!) is in the rain shadow and thus receives much less rain than Calabria (toe of Italy!)to the west.

This part of Italy is dominated by the southern extension of The Appenine mountains. The lowlands are limited to the east and west coasts. The west coast has more extensive lowland than the Adriatic coast. Soils are generally poor in quality with some exceptions such as the volcanic soils around the Naples-Vesuvius area. Considerable amonts of soil erosion has occured it the Appenines due to overgrazing and flasg floods. The drought conditions have also hindered soil development. The parent material rocks in the Appenines do not break down into fertile soils e.g. crystalline granites and limestones.

Industrial Development

This is a peripheral region in southern Europe. It is a long distance from the core of Italy and the core of Europe to the North. There is no tradition for industrialisation here, because the region has no natural resources such as coal or ores. There is a history of out migration to the north and abroad. Agriculture is poorly developed. Any progress re industrialising the south is the result of governmernt policy. As a result there is a modern day industrial triangle which includes Bari, Brindisi and Taranto. The development of these port location is the result of the Cassa. The Cassa was a fund established by the Italian government to improve the overall infrastructure of The Mezzogiorno. Grants etc. were offered to companies to decentralise their operations southwards from the north. This policy has had considerable success, but this region is still much more economically disadvantaged compared with the North..

Many situations in life can be similar to another. Many situations can also share differences. Movies and plays can also be alike in many ways, but different in others. This is apparent in the film The Lion King, and the play Hamlet. The Lion King and Hamlet share similarities, are different in some ways, and were made for two completely different reasons.

There are similarities between the film and the play. For one, many of the characters in the two are comparable. Hamlet and Simba are alike in the fact that they both lose their father, who was king. Scar and Claudius and similar, in the fact that they both kill their own brother to become king. The Ghost is like Mufasa. They were both killed, but came back to speak to their respective sons. Their are also plot similarities. In both the film and the play, the king is murdered by their brother, and the brother takes over the thrown. The new king wants the prince to be dead in both. The son of the first king manages to get revenge on their uncles in both the film and the play, too.

Not everything is alike in The Lion King and Hamlet, as there were some differences. One obvious difference is that The Lion King stars lions, and Hamlet stars actual humans. Also, the whole film seems to be more happier and alive than the play does. Many situations in life can be similar to another. Many situations can also share differences. Hobbies

Hobbies differ like tastes. If you have chosen a hobby according to your character and taste you are lusky because your life becomes more interesting. Hobbies are divided into four large classes doing things, making things, collecting things and learning things.

The most popular of all hobby groups is doing things. It includes a wide variety of activites, eveerything from gardening to travelling and from chess to volleyball. Gardening is one of the oldest of man’s hobbies. It’s a well-known fact that the English are very fond of gardening and growing flowers, especially roses. Both grown-ups and children are fond of playing different computer games. This is a new hobby but it’s becoming more and more popular.

Making things includes drawing, painting, designing. Two of the most famous hobby painters were President Eisenhower and Sir Winston Churchill. Almost everyone collects something at some period in his life stamps, coins, books, records, postcards. Some collections become so large that they are housed in museums and galleries.

Snowboarding is also a way of life, with its own equipment, style, music, clothing and even language.

Youth problems

All people nowadays have problems and young people are not an exception. Perhaps they have even more. First of all teenagers want to show they’re different so they react not only against their parents, but against their older brothers and sisters too. This kind of situation is unfortunately quite common.

Young people are in some way lost. We live in difficult times and sometimes they have a rather negative view of life. They keep trying to find ways to enjoy themselves. Although everybody know drugs are dangerous there are many teenagers who have become addicted to them. Some young people take drugs because they help them feel good, some because they lonely or they want to escape from their problems. In my opininion, the goverment should take effective action to solve this problems.

Another important problem is to get a good education. It is not easy to make the right choice. Education is a tool of making our life more successful and perhaps happier. Everything we know comes through a process of education.

GB

The UK of GB and Northern Ireland is situated on the British Isles. The British Isles Consist of two large island, GB and Irland. Their total area is over 44 000 square kilometres.

The UK is made up of four countries England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Their capitals are Lomdon, Cardiff, Edinburg, and Belfast. Shakespeare called Britan a “precious stone set in the silver sea” because of its natural beauty. It has a varied countryside where you can find mountains, plains, valleys, and sandy beaches. Ben Nevis in Scotland is the highest mountain but it is only 14 metres high.

There are a lot of rivers in GB, but they are not very long. The Severn is the longest river, while the Thames is the deepest and the most important one. The mountains, the Atlantic Ocean and the warm waters of Gulf Stream influence the climate of the British Isles. It is mind the whole year round.

The UK is a constitution monarchy. In law, the Head of State is the Queen. In practice, the Queen reigns, but does not rule. The country is ruled by the elected government with the Prime Minister at the head.

Is it rational to be altuistic?

Is it rational to be altruistic?

It is first important to define the term altruism. In his article ‘Egoism and Altruism’, B. Williams uses the word morality to also imply altruism and gives us a ‘minimal interpretation’ of it and refers to it as ‘ a general disposition to regard the interests of others’. He also introduces the ‘possibility of limiting one’s own projects’ as a further feature of altruism. What is meant to be rational? Williams defines it from what he calls a Kantian standpoint the structure of practical reason. Economists hold that all decisions that are made are rational. Blackburn writes about the ‘economic man’ in ‘Looking Out for Yourself’ as a paradigm of self-interested rationality rather than a moral paradigm. Rationality seems to be equated with a form of egoism a self-centred pursuit to fulfil your own interests. It does seem to be the argument that it is not rational to be altruistic, but just that it is more morally correct for a person to be of a more altruistic persuasion.

Williams states why it wouldn’t be rational for one to be egoistic, but not why it would be rational for one to be altruistic. In ‘The Amoralist’ he does not think that it is possible to argue someone into caring about something; only would this be possible if morality ‘can be got off the ground rationally’, but I don’t see how he does that in either of his articles. Williams does not see this as defeat for reason or rationality, but instead, a defeat for humanity. Sidgwick, quoted in Mackie (in ‘Sidgwick’s Pessimism’) states a similar point, that a person who takes his own happiness or pleasure as the ultimate end ‘there seems no opening for any line of reasoning to lead him to Universalistic Hedonism’ or concern for the happiness or welfare of others than himself. Williams take a rather extreme viewpoint throughout the entire essay ‘Egoism and Altruism’, and seems on intent proving that egoism is not morally right. He does this by presenting arguments that may change a person from an egoistic standpoint to more altruistic grounds. However Williams does little to show that is it rational to be altruistic; he instead states the need for an internal and external justification of altruism does this equate to rationality? He argues that if it is possible to show that altruism is necessary for society, and society for human life, then this externally provides justification or altruism. The internal justification is the personal satisfaction that would result from behaving altruistically. Williams doesn’t provide explicit arguments for why we should be altruistic, and certainly not why it would be rational to be altruistic. He seems to imply in his conclusion that whilst it may not be possible to find rationalistic grounds for being altruistic, it is nevertheless right. He disagrees with Kant that it is possible to elicit altruism from certain structural conditions on rational practical thought. Williams favours the Humean claim that it is not such conditions, but rather a certain desire or sentiment from a person that constitutes the vital step in the direction of altruism.

Williams states that it is not possible by a ‘purely rational process’ to change the egoist from having ‘I-desires’ to a more altruistic standpoint that he favours and having ‘non-I desires’. He does say it would be irrational for one to be egoistic if they claimed that it was all right for them but not all right for others to behave in the same fashion. Williams uses the loaded word ‘desire’ on many occasions without providing a clear definition of what he means by it. It also seems to me as though what is left wanting is the need for a distinction between the term ‘desire’ and ‘need’. People do not only desire and want things; there are certain things that could be argued that are a necessity for the individual. Can these needs, such as hunger and a need for warmth be thought of in terms of ‘I desire’ and ‘non-I desire’? Perhaps not everything can be divided into two distinct categories between what you desire for yourself and what you desire for others. Williams does not make absolutely clear what he means by the terms ‘non-I desires’ and ‘I-desires’. Is he implying that these are two completely separate states of being? I think that the distinction between the two is not that clear and certain. It is possible to have desires that take into account the well being of yourself and others at the same time. In ordinary life, do people actually think in terms of self and others all the time? I think not. Decision-making in day-to-day life is not as rational as this and there are many factors affecting a decision, so perhaps it is not appropriate to think of altruism and morality in general in terms of solely being other or self-directed action. Williams recognises this and states that all he wishes to claim is that both sorts of desires are possible and to challenge the notion that all human action is ultimately only self directed. Related to the problem of desire above, Blackburn makes an interesting point, that sometimes we act not so much in ways that we want to act, but in ways we feel we should act. Are we still fulfilling a desire to please others? Also, that the satisfaction of certain desires may be the release of tension rather than the onset of pleasure. Blackburn writes about our concerns, things that matter to us; that enter our reasoning and that we care about. So, there are things, other than our desires that motivate us.

Perhaps on an individual level it is not rational, nor is it possible to be rational and altruistic. I do not think that this prevents people from performing altruistic acts. Sometimes we may do things that are not in our interest, but we desire to do them, e.g. get even with someone take revenge. Is this egoism? Is the fact that we desire to do something enough to make it an act of egoism? Taking revenge may not be in our self interest, in fact it may be harmful to our interests, so what can be considered as the rational, self-interested motivation behind such an action? This provides a further argument against the notion that human action is rational. A person wanting to help save the rainforest does not immediately seem to be acting on egoistic impulses. But on reflection, if it is considered to be his ‘desire’ to help save the rainforest, and he does do something positive to protect the rainforest, can he be said to have fulfilled a desire that was ultimately an ‘I desire’ and labelled an egoist? If we argue from these grounds, then every action can be reduced to an ‘I-desire’ and a need to do something for yourself. Broad classifies desires which have this kind of underlying cause as other-regarding but self-referential, that is, the doctrine that ‘each of us has specially strong obligations to benefit certain persons and groups of people who stand in special relations to himself’. The reason for desiring something is that is bears some relationship to myself. Whenever we do something, it results from the self in some form; otherwise we would not have the motivation to carry out the act, and self-referential altruism forms, and had always formed, says Mackie, a large part of common sense morality. As Blackburn says, our actions reveal what most concerns us, at that time. Blackburn notes an important distinction that Butler makes between the a) object of my particular desire (e.g. for food or for happiness of my neighbour) and b) the pleasure that will arise upon the satisfaction of this desire. Butler doesn’t think this alone is enough to say that the ‘principle’ of my action is ultimately self-love. Perhaps it is a question of the degree of the egoistic and altruistic elements present in a person’s character and subsequently, the degree of altruism or egoism present in their actions. But how could this possibly be quantified and measure?

In conclusion, I think that it is not rational to be altruistic on an individual level. This is because I don’t think we (on the whole) act or think rationally in our daily lives. I do believe that it is possible to behave altruistically, when altruism is defined as thinking about the interests of others. The welfare of those connected to us through ties of family or friendship is important to most people and I do think that we consciously make decisions and relate the outcomes of every action back to our own interests. However, I think it can be considered a possibility that we may, or can, be rationally altruistic on a societal level. Certain people, such as governments certainly aim to show that they attempt to behave altruistically but whether they actually do or not is questionable. In our society, individuation and competition are encouraged. People are also seen to have a duty and responsibility for the care of others. I don’t think that these two ideas have to be opposing or mutually exclusive. To have concern for the welfare or yourself and others seems to me to be inherent in human behaviour.

Artist DMX

Album Flesh of my flesh, Blood of my blood

Track Dogs 4 life

Love is love and I enjoy the love

But when its conflict then it destroys the love

You cant toy with love, niggas take it to the heart

You aint goin to find too many niggas willing to bark in the dark.

In this stanza DMX is talking about the love shared between he and his friends. He describes his

relationships with the fellas as a committed contract type of love, a love that he would die for.

But then there can be a conflict, that will destroy the love, perhaps over money, women or in this case a sour deal on any topic, something done to loose the trust. And describing toying with the love will destroy it, is to say that you cant play with the love, you cant approach the line of conflict then try and go back and mend things up over and over again. If you play with the love and trust of your friends then you may loose the love. Your friends that love you the ones that trust you with their lives and actually love you, will take to heart any of your actions that you present. In the last line he says you aint going to find too many niggas willing to bark in the dark. This I believe has different meanings, one is telling you that you are not going to find too many people to make friends that will be willing to go the limits for you. Not a lot of people are willing to stand up for them selves let alone to stand up and look out for some one else. To bark in the dark I think speaks of walking around in the actual night time, I vision someone on the dark streets of the ghetto outside of a house looking for a friend that may be just called him on the phone to meet up with him because he is in grave danger. Yet another way is to look at it like bark in the dark is the same as the old fraise of test the water before you jump into it. Only the real true love of a friend will press one to take risks of getting into and not knowing what they are really getting into.

The topic I have chosen for this task is ‘Interacting in a team of workplace context.’ The team/workplace I will be working with are Sr. Johns Port Adelaide as I have just become a member and thought it would be an exciting topic. St John Ambulance Australia is a volunteer based program which enables ordinary people like you and I give help to those in need of medical attention. To become a St. John volunteer you must have your Senior First Aid Certificate and if you don’t St. John will tell you when their next Senior First Aid class is so you can get one. After you join there is usually a three hour session each week to keep your skill levels up.

So for my interacting in a team I have chosen to do our last session which was a casualty simulation (this is when we act out an incident and use our skills to help that casualty.). In this scenario we have to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation while in a moving vehicle (our St. John ambulance.), there are five people in a group

Driver- is responsible for getting the casualty to hospital as quickly and efficiently as he/she can.

Front seat passenger- is responsible for calling out directions as loud and clear as they can for example ‘right turn coming up!’

The first, first aider- will control the breaths with a bag and mask.

The second first aider- will control the compressions. (Two breaths to every fifteen compressions.)

The instructor- they tell you what’s happening to your patient and if you doing something wrong or right.

There are four rotations so each person gets a chance to have a go at every thing excluding the instructor.

“Like a Winding Sheet” by Ann Petry

In Ann Petry’s “Like a Winding Sheet”, we see a black man mind abducted by the disease called racism, which he try’s to overcome by applying the values put upon him by his family. Having been living with racism so long, he struggles to continue to fight for his family beliefs.

“Like a Winding Sheet” is about a Blackman name Mr. Johnson who lives with his wife Mae. They both work the night shift, in a labor plant. Johnson is always late for work because the aches in his legs. One Friday on the thirteen day of the month, Johnson went to work and got chewed up by his boss for being late. Then Johnson got rejected at the all-night-restaurant by the coffee lady. Every time someone rejects or come off inappropriate, Johnson looks at the situation as a racial insult and gets extremely mad. The only way to control his anger is the values bestowed on him by his family’s upbringings. Can his family’s values hold value when his anger gets unbearable?

In “Like a Winding Sheet”, Ann Petry uses structure to show the birth to the death of Johnson’s struggles. She also shows symbols like the “lipstick” and “Wind Sheet” to argue why Johnson struggles to continue to fight for his family’ belief, not to hit on women.

In the beginning Johnson had an argument with his wife Mae about why she should go to work despite it was Friday the Thirteen. Petry states, “He couldn’t bring

himself to talk to her roughly or threaten to strike her like a lot of men might have done. He wasn’t made that way” (85), which states his family’s belief, the birth. This first argument symbolizes the beginning of Johnson “winding in a sheet”.

Johnson’s belief is tested when he has a discussion with his boss Ms. Scott, which is a white women that yells at him for being late and calls him a “Nigger” in the process. Johnson gets mad and wants to hit his boss for being racist but, “ He stood motionless for a moment and turned away from the red lipstick on her mouth that made him remember that the foremen was a women” (86). The lipstick symbolizes a woman which makes Johnson recall his family’s values. Johnson continues to “Wind in the sheet”, growing.

Johnson’s belief is tested again when he went to the all-night-restaurant to get a hot cup of coffee after work. He stood in line with the others, but when his turn came up “No more coffee for awhile”, the white coffee lady said. Johnson got mad “He wanted to do was hit her so hard that the scarlet lipstick on her mouth would smear and spread over her nose, her chin, out toward her cheeks; so hard that she would never toss her head again and refuse a man a cup of coffee because he was black” (88). As the conflicts continue and Johnson got madder the “lipstick” starts to less symbolize a woman. The “winding sheet” also continues to get tighter as Johnson continues to grow.

Finally Johnson belief was tested for the last time against his wife, Mae. Johnson came home after being mad all day. He started snapping out on his wife about her gum popping and her nagging about him sitting on her work pants that was laid over the back of the chair. By now Johnson was so tight in the “winding sheet” he probably couldn’t breathe. Mae said “You’re nothing but an old hungry nigger trying to act touch and” (0). After that statement Johnson was waiting for Mae to giggle to represent a joking matter, but he didn’t give her a chance to, and “She was standing close to him and that funny tingling started in his finger tips, went fast up his arms and sent his fist shooting straight for her face” (0). “ She screamed that he realized he had hit her in the mouth- so hard that the dark red lipstick had blurred and spread over her full lips, reaching up toward the tips of her nose, down toward her chin, out toward her cheeks” (0). The lipstick symbolized nothing at the end. The only way to get out of a “winding sheet” is to unwind yourself out of it, “He groped for a phrase, a word, something to describe what this thing was like that was happening to him and he thought it was like being enmeshed in a winding sheet-that was it-like a winding sheet” (0). Johnson continued to hit her repeatedly to get out of the “winding sheet”. Johnson died because he didn’t continue to fight for his family’s belief, not to hit on woman.

In Ann Petry’s “ Like a Winding Sheet” I argued that the no matter how mad you get, you can’t keep it bottled up inside of you for so long, eventually you won’t be able to breath. You will be in a “winding sheet” and one day you will have to unwind from the sheet to survive. People come across a lot of battles and walk away from them because something or somebody gave them a tool, or a way to get out of a fight. At some point in your life those tools or ways of getting you out of a fight will lessen as you get madder and angrier, and you hope another tool come along or another way comes along to stop you from using you fist. If that tool or way does not come along the old tools become no use and you are forced to unwind out of your sheet.

I am confident that the work that the Lord has started here will be continued until the day of Jesus Christ! This week has been evident to me of the work of God is the lives of the people around me and also in my own life. It started out as a very hard and trying time. It seemed that everyone around me was falling apart and they thought they had no where to go. I was so blessed to be able to have the opportunity to share with them that the hard things they are going through now are not the end of the world. That Christ can be their all and He wants to be. Seeds were planted this week, and I know that the Lord is going to be faithful to continue working in the lives of these dear people. Thank you to all of you who have been praying for the work here. I cannot tell you how very grateful I am to know that you are praying. Even when times seem hard or things are going as I would like the Lord reminds me that He is in control and He is working things out for our best.

Four Babies of Rodom #

There were four precious babies this week that I was blessed to be with at the time of their birth. On Monday, Cheryl stayed at our apartment so I was able to go with Molly to the Rodom for the day. At the time I enjoyed the one on one training, but because I understand quite a bit of Russian Molly didnt translate nearly as much as she would have had Cheryl been there. But it was good for me to have to listen and concentrate on understanding. This week has turned out to be one of stretching my limits of the Russian language.

This weeks first baby was Maria. Her mom had been trying to have a child for years and had not been able to. Then this year she was able to get pregnant. It was such a blessing to be able to witness the love the parents of this little girl had for her and how excited they were of her arrival. It did take them about four days to decide on a name though. A very common trouble in Russia. Which name to choose?!?

Our second baby this week was Julia. =) I told the parents it was an honor for me to have them name their baby after their American midwife! Of course she would have gotten that name even if I hadnt been there, but it was a nice thought. Dont you think?

The third baby this week as Arsini. His mom has several health problems related to her ability to carry a pregnancy to term and so his birth was anticipated with great delight. He is the second child to be born to this family, although there have been four miscarriages/stillbirths also. They are also a Jewish family which is still a rarity in Russia I am told. This mom did speak some English, so it was interesting to get to talk to her a couple times.

Baby number four this week as on Saturday. A young 18-year-old mother went into labor early Saturday morning. Once we arrived at the hospital she was doing well. Very calm and talkative for a while. Then she started concentrating more on her labor, but still remained very calm. A lot of times the younger mothers are the more fearful and have a harder time with it, but this girl would be given a reward for her calm, cool, and collected way she gave birth. Her husband was there with her, as well as her mother and they had a much harder time with the effects of labor! Another girl, Kristina was born early afternoon and we were able to help this family adjust well.

After the complications of last week (fetal distress, unstable blood pressure, resuscitating babies, and everything else we saw) this week was a breeze! None of the women were given epidurals, so the babies were quicker to respond immediately after birth. Only one was on an IV during her labor, so they were able to move as they needed. Only a couple of them had minor lacerations. It was so good to see how normally (and even the couple all natural) birth could really be. These moms did so well and their babies were the healthiest we had seen!

Life in Russia

Several people have asked about specific areas of Russian life, so I thought I would take the time to give a little overview.

Russian people are some of the most hospitable people on earth. Once you meet one you will be friends forever and they are most likely to give you anything they have. If you know you are going to a Russians home for a meal, dont eat anything before you go. This week I was in four different Russian homes and each time I was filled with food to overflowing, or at least it felt that way. They dont understand the concept of someone telling them they are full. How could that be? There is still food here on the table! And just so you are prepared, if you ever do have a meal with a Russian family, remember they usually ALWAYS have tea afterwards. So eat, but do it slowly, so you have time to digest everything. If you clear your plate that must mean you are still hungry and they will fill it up again for you!

Shopping in Russia is nothing like it is in America. The Russians have always done it this way so they are used to it, but if America even tried it most people would be totally frustrated! See, if you walk into a normal store here there are not normal isles like in America. EVERYTHING is behind or under a counter. (Kind of like it would be at a nice jewelry store in America). You have to find all the things you want, and then go to the cashier and tell her what you want and how much it costs. Then you pay, then you go to the counter where the things are you want and give your receipt to another lady who gives you your items. =) There are also open markets everywhere, where people set up their little booths of wares and food items and you walk up and tell them what you want. =) Ok, so there are a FEW grocery stores where you can go and they are set up as close to what a Russian that has never been to America can imagine the stores there being like. But there is a catch. You have to give the coat lady your bag/purse/backpack before you go in the store. Then you get a basket and go get what you want and then stand in a long line for the cashier. You also have to pay for a bag if you want to put your groceries in one! Can you imagine having to pay for every Wal-Mart bag??? They cost one ruble a piece which is approximately three cents. Its always an adventure!

You Speak Russian!?!

This weekend has been a weekend to stretch the limits of my Russian ability past the breaking point! Saturday night we were with a family for several hours as we visited with them and Molly was able to catch up on some things she needed to do. Molly left Cheryl and I with Leanna (the mother of the family) in the kitchen to talk while she was doing something on the computer. I didnt think she would be gone long, but it turned into over an hour. So for that long I tried to come up with enough to say that was understandable as Leanna kept asking us questions about our lives in America and our families. Translating into English for Cheryl wasnt bad at all. I got just about everything Leanna said. From English into Russian was a whole different story! Leanna said that she understood everything though, so that was encouraging! After we had been talking one of her sons, came in and started talking with us also. He speaks English well, and so was able to help translate. THEN he tells me that his mother was a Russian language teacher for years before she started working at the Department of Education here in Lomonosov. After that I could only think of what she must be thinking about how I am butchering her beautiful language! She was very gracious though and I was very grateful for her patience.

It seems that lately I have been understanding more as I am with the Russian people and trying to communicate. The Lord has really blessed me so much with the ability to communicate well when needed. Several people lately once introduced to me and realize that I understand the first few sentences they speak, look at Molly and say, Oh, she speaks Russian! to which Molly always says, yeah, she understands a little bit. =) Praise the Lord for what I DO understand!

Thank You Dear Friends

and cozy house.
